In the Ain Sefra area, wilaya of Saida, west of Algeria, the Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous are mainly represented by notable clastic successions of argillaceous rocks, sandstones and conglomerates. Copper mineralization concentrates on three levels: Portlandian, Neocomian and Aptian. This mineralization is observed to be associated with channel structures. It is also shown that the paleogeographical distribution of the copper mineralization is confined to the area of a platform evolution, marking the Upper Jurassic to Lower Cretaceous period.
